We’re listening to the feedback that Bonita users are giving us. Your feedback is how we know where to make Bonita easier to use and perform better.
Here are some examples of what we have heard and used from Bonita users:
- You asked for the ability to interact with BPMN diagrams for running cases - we’ve introduced business monitoring using a newly integrated bmpn-visualization library
- You shared with us your need to view statistics and download process execution reports with meaningful data from Bonita, mainly for process performance analysis and pinpointing areas of improvement - we’re offering the Bonita Reporting Application.
- You asked for an easier way to get started with designing a process model to create an application - so we have re-thought the user journey for the new Bonita user, and this is reflected in the Bonita Studio menu, and which also means that Bonita Studio loads faster. For everyone, not just for newbies! You can move faster on developing business apps with Bonita.
- You needed a currency widget. Now you have one!
Better Business Monitoring with Process Analytics
Being able to visualize the BPMN diagram for an overall process, and for a specific case running in that process, is really helpful when you want to have an overall view.
We held a webinar called Dive Into Process Analytics, where we went through a deep dive to better understand how business processes are executed and how to optimize them. At that webinar we introduced to the Bonita user community an independent project called Process Analytics, which is developing a set of open-source libraries and components to easily get a visual overview of business process data.
Now, we are happy to announce that this brand-new feature, based on one of the libraries offered by this project, has been integrated into the Bonita Enterprise Edition. In Bonita 2022.2, it is now possible to get the visual overview of your process data natively in the Bonita process and cases diagram visualization pages. Hooray!
This is just the first development as we improve process visibility for better business intelligence. More interactivity and information display for business process monitoring is in the roadmap now.
Bonita Reporting Application
Bonita's reporting application will help you easily display statistics and generate reports with meaningful data to make better business decisions.
The Bonita Reporting Application allows you to process performance analysis and pinpoint areas of improvement for any process based on a period of time you define. The reporting application allows you to
- Report on cases in execution data
- Report on human actions in cases
Process Historical Data shows case execution data, for the process you choose for the time period you choose. Human Tasks Historical Data shows what actions were taken by assigned people in the case you choose, for the time period you choose. You can download detailed archived human tasks data, packaged in a .csv format file inside a zip, so you can analyze it with your chosen analytics tool.
Faster loading Bonita Studio
In versions of Bonita before Bonita 2022.2, Bonita Studio automatically initiated a project each time the platform was launched. In Bonita 2022.2, Bonita Studio starts much faster - 50% faster by our measurements - and you will find yourself directly in project creation. We expect this to be a much better user experience.
Better organized menus
Bonita Studio menus have been changed, again to improve user experience.
From now on:
- the menu contains all concepts linked to project development, for example
- “Git” is now shown at this level
- “Import” and “Export” are no longer shown at this level
The cool bar contains the project actions too!
New menu on Bonita Studio in v2022.2
A new order has been applied so that it matches the logical order you follow when developing an application or project: create a process diagram first, then concentrate on creating the organization, application pages, layout, and so on. Again, this offers a better user experience.
New currency widget
Euros, dollars, pounds…there’s a widget for that now in the Bonita User Interface Designer!
This new UI Designer widget will allow you to handle currency format input easily. No more need to do it manually! This widget can validate the input based on min / max values and shows a currency symbol directly so the expected input is clearer and more visible.
And that’s not all! This widget is highly flexible, as you can configure:
- a default value
- a read-only property
- the currency symbol ($ by default)
- its position on the widget (left or right)
- the character separator for the fraction (space by default)
- the currency group separator
- the number of decimals and the number of digits within a group
