ComOps
Bonita integration in less than 2 months
Project Objective
ComOps provides workforce solutions to current clients in Rostering and Scheduling, Learning Management, Health and Safety Compliance, Workforce Planning, ERP, Supply Chain Management, eCommerce, Mobile CRM, and Business Intelligence. ComOps is working with Bonitasoft to even better address the needs of their customers in these solution areas.
ComOps was specifically looking for ways to enhance their customers’ current applications and processes. They wanted to be able to offer better ways to automate manual processes to improve operational efficiency. Also, their client companies desired to better streamline core processes, enabling them to respond faster and more cost-effectively to changing market forces.
With the goal of sustainability in mind, ComOps sought to decrease their paper consumption by moving away from manual paper-based processes. This integration makes the ComOps portfolio more competitive, in addition to giving their customers more functionality.
The market research on Business Process Management Providers.
With the challenges of their customers in mind, ComOps evaluated a number of global BPM providers to best address these needs, including Bonita, ARIS from SoftwareAG and ProgressSavvion BPM.
It was crucial for ComOps to deliver the new product without spending more than a year in software development to integrate the new BPM functionalities into the existing product. Utimately, they chose Bonita because of its ease of use and flexibility. The ComOps team required almost no training to get up to speed with the new technology.
Additionally, the technology was flexible enough to sit across all of ComOps solutions. The process execution on Bonita’s Java-based engine can easily extend across all ComOps solutions. This means that this BPM solution is flexible enough to be integrated into both the ERP and Workforce management portfolio.
Full integration in the product suite
The new Bonita BPM features took only one month to develop; a time line ComOps very much appreciated.
The capability to access and apply business rules for corporate governance comes with BPM technology as well – better governance means clearer decision-making processes, clear audit trails, and easier proof of compliance with both internally and externally imposed quality standards and regulations.
After only two months of preparation, ComOps has fully integrated Bonita into their ERP & Workforce Optimisation suites. The first live solution, ComOps BPM and Workflow Solution, was delivered in January 2013, and ComOps envisions that many of their clients and users will quickly find value from the new BPM solution. ComOps anticipates that several thousand users will ultimately use the new solution.
Processes involving Purchase Order Requisition & Invoice Processing (Procure to Pay), Quotation and Contract Review Automation, and Capex Review and Approval are especially complicated processes which show real benefit from workflow and process automation. ComOps anticipates identifying many more areas which will benefit from complex workflow and approval logic, which can then be addressed by their products via Bonita technology.
