The role of the Ministry of the Armies is to ensure the protection of the territory, the population and French interests. It also responds to other missions in the framework of international (NATO) or regional (Defense Europe) agreements and treaties.

Beyond these missions, the Ministry of the Armies is also involved in public service missions. Its human and material resources support or supplement the actions of other ministries, on a daily or emergency basis, on the national territory and abroad.

The department uses Bonita for logistic applications in different divisions.
